Swaffer and Linwood are both British fabric houses. Britain was fundamental in the cloth industry and still boasts amazing fabric mills. Both Swaffer and Linwood offer excellent customer service and are happy to provide customers with samples. Swaffer is my ‘go-to’ for Sanderson style florals and Linwood my first choice for classy, mid-priced, timeless and exciting designs in great hard-wearing, contract grade velvets.
As well as Swaffer and Linwood, I also hold accounts with Osborne & Little (includes Nina Campell and Matthew Williamson), Weymss, Warwick and Charlotte Gaisford and Ross. I also have an account with Parker Knoll fabrics so as to keep chairs as authentic as possible.
Weymss often offer high-end, reasonably priced ‘bling’ style. Warwick are an Australian company that are great at small geometric prints and Ross are simply fabulous for combining practicality with economy and are brilliant for sofas and dining chairs.
I carry a few of the above sample books but advise my clients to view their websites for themselves as often, they present great images that help visualisation of certain fabrics on furniture and indeed, can help give customers interior design ideas. I can then acquire samples for customers to keep.

Often, a design meet is necessary in order to ascertain the suitability of a fabric for the piece of furniture. This could be influenced by pattern repeat or practicality.
Once a customer has chosen fabrics, the order is placed. I’m more than happy to take delivery of the order so I might check for flaws and re-measure before commencement of the commission works.
I’m happy to work with ‘Client’s own’ fabrics although I like to check and accustom myself to the fabric in the first instance.
